Pinterest have removed the visit site button

You might have seen either on your account, or other people mentioning it in some Facebook groups that pinterest has removed the visit button on some pins.

Pinterest has been talking about becoming more of a shopping platform.

What does this mean for bloggers. If you find that your pins are having the visit button removed, check that you can still visit your site by tapping on the 3 dots and see if the visit site is in there.

I’ve seen people reach out to Pinterest to be removed from this ‘experiment’.

It’s also worth looking at if your pins are showing suggested products.

I personally removed this option, I want people to go through to my blog where I can earn a commission and they can see what products I suggest.

I like many other bloggers are not keen on the platform just being full of shopping pins, so we have to see how this goes. You can see the difference if you change your Pinterest account between say the USA and another country.

I still find Pinterest one of the best places to drive traffic to my blog for free.

Building an email list could help if you find you start losing vast traffic as you can still keep in touch with your customers or readers.

What do you think, would you prefer Pinterest more aimed at shopping or do you still like reading blogs?
